Brian K. McCullough Jr., 36, was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Erika King, the outlet says citing Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo.

Officers were already on their way to the home on the 1800 block of Boas Street around 9 p.m. when McCullough allegedly shot her inside the house in front of her daughter, who had called 911, according to Harrisburg police and the news outlet.

King was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

On Facebook, tributes poured in, shedding light on the issue of domestic violence against women.

Public court records do not indicate where McCullough is being held.
